Navigating multicultural leadership?

Developing Leaders
Leadership is very different to what it was a decade ago. It requires a dramatically different knowledge and skill set to establish and lead often diverse, multi-cultural, dispersed or virtual teams. Navigating such teams to effective performance without the right kind of help can be a difficult proposition.
It requires a shift from control to influence. And it needs a shift from thinking about one dimension of effectiveness to dealing with several dimensions of team identity and communication. Experience and research have both shown that when leaders are given the opportunity to prepare for these hitherto unfamiliar and complex challenges in a structured and systematic way, they can easily learn to devise the right set of approaches to leading in the modern era.
